I Am Not A Gay Porn Star!

The whole online personal-journal-blogging-diary thing has never really appealed to me. I have done a little bit of blogging on our food and whisky blogs, but those are not really personal blogs. I mean, does the whole of the Internet really need to know about me? I’m just this guy, you know?

So why start now?

Because Google thinks Jeremy Brooks is a gay porn star.

Every once in a while, I’ll Google my name (you know you do it too!), and I’ll see some hits that are me — mostly posts I have made to various mailing lists. But lately, Jeremy “Gay Porn Star” Brooks is getting closer to the top of the list. Somehow, Google needs to be taught that there are other people named “Jeremy Brooks” out there, and one of them happens to be me. And I am definitely not a gay porn star! Hopefully, a reasonably active blog will get my name a few more hits on Google that are less, well, gay.

So, here you have it. The Jeremy Brooks online-journal-blog-diary-digital-life thingie. What will it be? Time will tell. I have been inspired by sites like Thomas Hawk’s to document what I see around me, and I have a post or two related to photos I have been taking lately. I also plan to post thoughts on technology, including what I like and don’t like, hints and tips, and programming related stuff. This blog may develop into something more specific, or it may not. We will see.
