Stranger Things Have Happened

This is one of the keepers from the Photowalk yesterday (you can see the rest of the set here. What a blast that was!
Several of the other people that were on the walk have posted their photos. Check them out:
Some people have asked me what a photowalk is. Is it an organization that promotes “walks”? Is it a class? Well, neither, really.
It was not a formal “join the camera walking society and we will tell you when we do walks” thing. It was organized by Thomas Hawk, a Bay Area photographer that loves taking photos and loves sharing his work. He has done a few of them before, but this is the first one I was able to join. People read about it on his blog, or heard from somebody, and just showed up, maybe 20 or so. We wandered around some of the city, more or less following Thomas. Along the way we chatted, took photos, asked questions, and watched each other. It is not a class, but everybody was willing to answer questions about what they were doing — what do you see in that shot? What equipment are you using? Why are you shooting with that lens right now? What kind of pizza do you like?
If you enjoy photography, I suggest you Google for a photowalk in your area. Or organize one of your own! Post it on your blog, and see who shows up.
