Death of a Camera

I really am not very good with electronic things. I drop my cell phone constantly. I have dropped my laptop, which required expensive, non-warranty repairs. And I did something to my camera the day we left Spain for France.
I don’t know what I did — I don’t remember dropping it — maybe I sat on it or something. But the LCD screen is cracked, and no longer displays anything. And since the camera does not have a viewfinder, this makes it rather difficult to frame a shot. I can’t even adjust the settings, since that also requires an active display, which of course I don’t have.
We stopped at a Mega Media (I think that is what it was called; picture Best Buy with 1000x more cell phones, nasty florescent lighting, and loud music) and purchased a new camera, a Canon A630. I just could not get used to it though, and it had lots of annoyances. The ISO metadata did not get embedded in the photos, and the time zone was set to Madrid (GMT+1) and I could not figure out how to change the time zone. So I quit using it, and I’m back to using the broken Panasonic. I am just resorting to taking lots more photos, and some of them are turning out okay. You will see eventually. I have not had any internet connectivity for several days, so I’m doing a lot of catchup right now.
Hopefully they will let me return it. We will stop by on our way back to Barcelona. I guess this means I am in for another expensive electronics repair bill. Bummer.

I’m so sorry. Interesting that you found another camera not to your liking. I love my darling Lumix.
