Big World, Little Eyes

During Photowalk 7, I met Andrew Lighten, a photographer from Australia. I’ve been subscribed to his flickr photostream since. Yesterday, this photo caught my eye. When I took a closer look, I discovered that it was actually taken by his 4 year old daughter! She was using a simple Canon point and shoot, and getting some really neat photos. In fact, Andrew created a Flickr account for her, and she’s got some really great shots in her photostream.

This is so great! It really shows how interesting photos can be taken by simply shooting things that catch your eye, without a lot of preconceived ideas and rules that dictate what and how you should shoot. It also made me think about the benefit of changing your angle — things look different from the height of a child.

I’m really looking forward to seeing the future photos from Big World, Little Eyes. It will be interesting to see things from her unique perspective.
