Zooomr and IPTC Metadata
Posted by jeremy on June 25th, 2007 filed in Photography, Photos, TechnologyI blogged a while back about Zooomr and metadata issues. Last night, Kris spent some time with one of the photos I was uploading, and he found the problem and uploaded the fix. I tested today, and I’m happy to report that the IPTC metadata — specifically Keywords — are now being parsed correctly!
That is such a relief! I was spending a lot of extra time tagging photos after upload. Now I can just tag them in Aperture one time and be done with it.
Kris, thanks for your quick troubleshooting and for getting the fix in so quickly. It’s great to have such an amazing site and have such good communication with the people that make it happen. It’s a great community to be a part of!

I’ll have to try it out tonight. Is it picking up the title and description from the IPTC metadata too? Or is it just the regular keywords? I also store the location, city, state and country IPTC data for each of my photos. I’ll have to see if it’ll pick that up as well. For comparison purposes, Flickr picks all of it up without any problems.
