I like to take a screen shot every so often of the photos that I have marked as favorites on Zooomr. Here is a capture of my favorites, sorted by awesomeness. There is so much great photography happening over on Zooomr, it almost seems unfair to only show a small portion of it. But if you want to see more, just click the photo to get to Zooomr, and start exploring.
This was taken in San Francisco at the end of a walk from Townsend & 3rd to the Embarcadero BART station. With the nights getting longer, this is an ideal time of year to shoot at night, so for November, I will be focusing on night photography. With the upcoming North Beach photowalk, I should be able to get the month off to a good start!
I purchased Leopard last week at the Emeryville Apple Store, but I have not had the time to install it. I don’t want to do an upgrade; rather, I want to do a full backup, then a clean install. However, this is a bit more work, since I will most likely have to migrate data from my backup to my new install.
I’ve been searching for some tips on how to reliably migrate data to the new install, and decided to collect them all here. I will update this post as I come across these tips.

Missing emails after installing Leopard
This photo is a milestone for me. It is the 500th neon shot that I have uploaded to Zooomr, and the 2000th photo upload. That means that 25% of my shots on Zooomr are neon. I knew I was shooting a lot of neon, but I didn’t realize how much!
I think I need to start shooting some other things as well. Maybe for November I will come up with a project theme and use that to expand my subject matter. Any suggestions?

A friend of mine has started selling her paintings. You can see samples of her work here. The site is new and will be changing a lot over the next few weeks, so keep an eye on it.
You may have seen still photos where people paint with light. Basically, it’s a long exposure taken at night, and somebody is waving a light source around in a pattern. The long exposure means that the camera sees the path of the light source, so the net effect is a shape painted with light.
Well, today I came across this animation on Zooomr, which takes the idea of painting with light to a new level. I can’t imagine how much time this must have taken to put together, but is is pretty impressive. Check it out.
